Founded in 2005, the CAAA helps citizens' make their communities better and safer places.

The goal of the organization is to foster relationships and understanding between the FBI Washington Field Office and the community to improve the FBI's ability to solve & detect crimes.

The CAAA has funded several important programs in support of the WFO Community Outreach Program including the Junior Special Agent and Mentoring programs in DC and Fairfax County Public Schools.

The CAAA also provides funding for the FBI Citizens' Academy which provides business, civic, religious and community leaders a look inside the FBI. This program is offered twice a year in Washington, DC and Manassas, VA.

Know someone you would like to nominate for a future FBI Citizens' Academy class? 

Individuals nominated for the Citizens' Academy must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a recognized business or community leader
  • Live and/or work within the District of Columbia or Northern Virginia
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have no prior felony convictions
  • Have no misdemeanor arrest within the year prior to application
  • Be able to commit to attending all sessions, with no more than two absences
